The Dr Irena Eris Centre for Science and Research – a unique in both Polish and European cosmetic industry – was founded in 2001. It brings together a team of biologists, pharmacists, chemists, biochemists, biotechnologists and dermatologists involved in conducting advanced research on skin cells and models.
Scientific research is one of the most important areas of activity of the Dr Irena Eris Centre for Science and Research.
The Centre conducts in vitro research on skin cells (fibroblasts and keratinocytes) and ex vivo research (on 3D skin models). This research allows for using active ingredients in cosmetics at optimal concentrations and in synergic complexes. Another stage of research work is in vivo (application) research, which proves the efficacy of ingredients in a specific cosmetic formulation.
The Centre cooperates with numerous scientific units (such as: Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University, Medical University of Lodz).
This activity not only leads to the production of effective, safe and innovative cosmetics, but also results in scientific and popular-science publications in Polish and foreign professional journals, as well as scientific lectures in Polish and International conferences or workshops.
The Center for Science and Research conducts in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies that are unique in the beauty and personal care industry. The studies are the key stage in the product development process. It should be emphasized that Dr Irena Eris Cosmetic Laboratories does not test and has never tested any skin care products or their ingredients on animals.
We do not recommend animal testing and we strongly oppose it. Moreover, for each raw material used in the production process we have its manufacturer’s statement that the raw material has not been tested on animals.
