Dermatologia Estetyczna, 2015, vol. 17, nr 6: 292-306 In the regulation of hair cycle significance is attributed to growth factors, i.a. fibroblast growth factor FGF1. In the presented work the impact of rFGF1 combined with caffeine was thoroughly investigated. Multistage tests of efficacy of this combination have been conducted, including both in vitro tests and trichoscopy performed in a group of volunteers. Cell culture tests have proven that the combination of these two substances stimulates skin cells division and, what is more, this effect is synergistic. Application tests of the cosmetic product containing rFGF1 and caffeine conducted on volunteers with aggravated hair loss have demonstrated an increase in hair volume, an increased number of hairs in anagen phase and a decrease in telogen hairs.
